The team departed Vikford, heading for Galestrom with haste. They weren’t sure if an attack was on the way or if it had already happened, but either way, they knew they were needed.
Novo 12-
Ex Umbra arrived in Galestrom, taking their first steps into the kingdom of Sercia. There was no sign of an attack. They approached a man by the base of a beautiful tower featuring a turbine and connected to a curious platform holding a large crystal. They met an elf named ??? and he told them he knew nothing of any attack. The elf looked at Caelen with a strange interest. When Caelen asked about it, the elf walked him down toward the crystal and asked him to place his hand upon it. The crystal began to glow and ??? revealed to Caelen why he was so interested in him. The crystal proved what he suspected, Caelen has royal blood in his veins. He addressed hime as Lord and kneeled before him. The rest of Ex Umbra found this humorous, but Caelen was more you comfortable than amused. He told the man to stand and he did as his lord commanded. ??? informed him that there seems to be a problem in the wind realm, effecting the winds across Sercia. The crystal opens a doorway to the wind realm, but it can only be powered by a member of the royal family. Caelen promised they would return, but insisted that they make their way to the capital city as fast as possible. ??? would not questions his Lord, and patiently awaits his return.
Novo 17-
They arrived in Sevilhiem, and Caelen was amazed by the landscape. Zane saw this and referred to it as Caelen’s kingdom. The other members of ex umbra also made jokes about it here and there but Caelen was quick to dismiss it. He doesn’t want to be a Lord, and he did his best to make that clear. Katrina saw a little girl with burns on half of her face entering a boutique and wanted to check on her. Vethra and Shadoe went with her. Katrina bought a bow for the girl and walked over to give it to her. While she held the attention, Vethra used message to ask the little girl if she was ok, but the girl responded out loud, confused by what she heard. The mother realized something was up and told Katrina to please leave them alone. She said she doesn’t want to be reminded of the things her ex husband did, and wanted her and her daughter to be able to move in without people prying. Shadoe wasn’t satisfied, she wanted a name. She used her magic to make her eyes appear more friendly, and convinced the girls mother that she was with the trade census of Mosphire. She was able to get a last name, and confirmed that this ex husband has the same last name. Loek. Vethra was too pissed to concern herself with strategy. The idea of a father hurting his daughter got under her skin, and she simply walked out and returned to the cart without saying much. The team decided to press on for the time being and hit the road again.
Novo 23-
Ex Umbra arrived in the capital of Sercia. They quickly made their way to the palace, intending to warn the kind of the attack, but they were stalled by a stubborn guard. This guard was thoroughly convinced that Onyx wasn’t a threat. He had met a man from Newhaven who had given him a “good luck charm”. The team saw it was one of the coins, but it was too late. They had said too much. Multiple cultists approached from the streets and rooftops planning to silence Ex Umbra before they could warn the king. The attack never came because the cult wasn’t sure if Sercia was aware of their plan. Ex Umbra’s conversation with this guard proved that they were ignorant to the threat, so if the team was defeated, the cult could continue as planned. Unfortunately for Onyx, Ex Umbra wiped out these soldiers, offering no mercy. The guard then led them inside and introduced them to the king. Caelen told the king that they had grave news to deliver and King Feybourne asked for his name. Caelen responded with “Vale” and the king looked visibly shocked as he said “What…”
